From manual group consolidation to an automated whole: at Avosylin Group, Finadeck now also handles BI reporting, budgeting, forecasting and fixed asset management.
Founded in 2020, Avosylin Group has grown into an organisation that needs financial information at many levels. In addition to the parent company, the group comprises four subsidiaries: Avosylin Oy, Neljä Astetta Oy, PerhehoitoKumppanit Suomessa Oy and Perhekoti Oy. The group's revenue in 2025 was around 26 million euros.

As the group has grown into a multi-level organisation, its financial reporting needs have grown too. The group, its companies, regions and individual offices must be viewed both separately and as one whole.
Previously this took several different tools, manual work and a lot of Excel. Now the same whole is largely handled in Finadeck.
The challenge: manual group consolidation and scattered reporting
Before Finadeck, Avosylin Group's consolidation was done manually. Reporting was produced at several levels, from the group down to individual offices, which made managing the whole laborious.
Comparing budget with actuals and updating forecasts also involved many manual steps. Part of the reporting was done in Power BI and part in Excel. The budget was built manually in Excel, and updating forecasts, especially for the internal income statement format, was laborious.
Manual work also meant a heavier workload and a higher risk of human error. Finished reports were also distributed to management and the board manually by email.
There were also challenges in fixed asset management. Fixed assets, depreciation differences and their budgeting were calculated in Excel, which added both workload and the risk of errors.

Usability, coverage and cost-efficiency decided the software comparison
When Avosylin Group started looking for a solution, the goal was not just a new consolidation tool. It needed a system that could meet the finance team's wider needs and bring the different reporting levels together.
In the comparison, Finadeck stood out especially for its modern, easy-to-use interface, its versatility and its cost-efficiency. Unlimited user accounts included in the licence were also a significant advantage for Avosylin: key people such as team leads could be given access to the system without extra costs as the number of users grows.
Finadeck's ready-made integrations with the most common accounting software, such as Procountor, and with other systems such as the Finago Työvuorovelho time tracking software, made the rollout easier. Information that wasn't necessarily in any system yet, but was wanted in management and board reporting, could also be brought into Finadeck through the OneDrive integration.
We compared different options before deciding, and it was important for us to find a solution that doesn't cover just one area of financial administration. What convinced us about Finadeck was especially its ease of use, its versatility and the fact that we could build group consolidation, reporting and planning in the same environment.
Consolidation was automated and the month-end close sped up
Since rolling out Finadeck, Avosylin Group's consolidation has been significantly automated.
Finadeck handles most of the eliminations of intra-group transactions automatically. One-off eliminations, such as elimination entries for internal dividends, and other group entries can be made through the elimination company's vouchers.
A clear interface, guidance and an audit trail make both daily use and reviewing the consolidation easier. Auditors can also review the group directly in Finadeck if they wish, with a ready financial statements book and a clear audit trail available.
One of the most significant benefits has been the reconciliation functionality. It has made possible posting errors easier to spot, and the group's month-end close has gone from hours of work to minutes. Preparing the financial statements, in turn, has gone from days to hours.
The reconciliation functionality has been a really significant improvement for us. Possible posting errors are much easier to find, and the time spent on the month-end close has dropped from hours to minutes. That changes quite a lot what financial administration's working time can be spent on.

BI reporting brings the group's data together
Besides consolidation, Finadeck has become Avosylin's key BI reporting tool.
During the rollout, the KPIs and reports needed for external and internal reporting were built into Finadeck on a turnkey basis. Once everything was in place, Avosylin Group's admin users could manage and edit KPIs and build new ones completely on their own, and found it easy. Editing and visualising reports is easy too, so reporting can be developed and adjusted quickly to current needs without relying on outside help. Doing it themselves gives the organisation agility, saves time and means that changes and new reporting needs can be handled as soon as they arise. Support is still available from named contacts when needed.
Finadeck collects the data for different reporting levels, so finances can be viewed at group, company, region and team level. This makes monitoring the whole more consistent and reduces the need to maintain parallel reporting models in different systems.
Report distribution is automated as well. Management and board reports can be sent from Finadeck automatically to defined recipients, and key people can drill down from a report all the way to voucher lines with their own user accounts when needed.
What matters to us is that everyone has access to the same information and that reporting has a single source of truth. Now management and the board get the reports they need automatically, but when needed you can also drill down all the way to voucher level.
Budgeting and forecasting moved from Excel to Finadeck
Avosylin Group now also uses Finadeck for budgeting and forecasting.
Budgets can be entered directly into Finadeck, different budget scenarios built, and forecasts created and edited in the same environment. Finadeck rolls budgets and forecasts up from individual offices to regional level, and from there on to company level and all the way to the group.
This has given planning one shared way of working. Budgets and forecasts sit in the same environment as actuals, so actuals and plans can be compared without the manual data transfer of the past.
The audit trail for budgets and forecasts also supports a single source of truth: you know where the numbers come from and how they have been handled.
In budgeting, one big benefit has been getting rid of juggling several Excel versions. Budgets and forecasts are now brought together in the same environment and can be viewed against actuals. Finadeck brings the essential information together in one place, which helps us anticipate what's ahead, react to changes in time and make better data-driven decisions. The role of forecasts in particular will grow in the coming years.
Fixed asset management also supports balance sheet and cash flow forecasting
One of Finadeck's benefits for Avosylin has been moving fixed asset management from Excel into the system.
With Finadeck's fixed asset and loan management, depreciation on fixed assets as well as loan interest and repayments can be taken into account in budgets and forecasts too. Together with automatic balance sheet simulations, this makes forecasting the balance sheet easier and gives a better basis for cash flow forecasts.
This way fixed asset management doesn't remain a separate accounting task but connects directly to planning ahead. The effects of investments, depreciation, loans and cash flow can be viewed as part of the same whole.
Thanks to Finadeck's built-in features, depreciation and loan calculations can be combined with budgeting and forecasting, which supports more accurate cash flow forecasts.

Less manual work, more time for financial management
Avosylin Group's use of Finadeck has grown well beyond the original need. The search started with automating consolidation, but today the same platform also serves BI reporting, budgeting, forecasting and fixed asset management.
At the same time, the finance processes have gained more automation and transparency. Reports can be distributed automatically, budgets and forecasts from different levels collected in the same environment, and the manual work around consolidation significantly reduced.
The biggest benefit of Finadeck for us is the whole package. When consolidation, reporting, fixed asset management, budgeting and, in the future, forecasts are in the same environment, financial planning no longer relies on separate Excel files and manual data transfer. There's more time left for productive financial management.
For avosylin, Finadeck has grown from a consolidation tool into a complete finance solution
For Avosylin, Finadeck's benefits reach beyond individual features. Finadeck brings the group's reporting levels together in one environment, automates consolidation and report distribution, and combines budgeting, forecasting and fixed asset management in the same whole.
Working with Finadeck has also been part of a successful rollout. The KPIs and reports Avosylin needed were first built on a turnkey basis, after which users have been free to develop the whole on their own as well. Help is available from named contacts when needed, and the cooperation has been found straightforward.
Dealing with Finadeck has been straightforward, and what was agreed has been delivered. What's decisive for us is that we can edit reports and KPIs ourselves, and that the system adapts to the changing needs of the business.
